By using Pawmark, you agree to these terms.
1. What Pawmark is
Pawmark is a competitive game where walking with your dog (in the real world) lets you claim hexagonal cells on a shared map. Walking more kilometers per week increases your ability to take cells from other players.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to:
- Walk safely. Pay attention to traffic, weather, and your dog. Pawmark runs in the background — don't use it while driving or in unsafe places.
- Use accurate GPS data from your own legitimate walks. GPS spoofing, location simulation, or speed manipulation will result in account suspension.
- Use display names that respect other players (see the Privacy Policy for the full content policy).
- Not attempt to break, exploit, or reverse-engineer the game's challenge mechanics, anti-cheat, or moderation systems.
- Respect your surroundings. Pawmark does not authorize you to enter private property, restricted areas, or places where dogs aren't allowed.
3. Weekly challenge mechanic
The game operates on a weekly window starting Monday 00:00 UTC. Your "power" in any given challenge is the total kilometers you have walked during the current week, which resets to zero every Monday. You can only claim cells from a player whose weekly kilometers are LOWER than yours. Cells of inactive players (zero weekly km) are claimable by any active player.
This mechanic is what Pawmark IS. We may tune parameters (loop detection thresholds, etc.) but the core "weekly km = challenge power" will not change without notice.
4. No pay-to-win
Pawmark is free to play. We do not sell — and will never sell — any product, subscription, or in-app purchase that grants a gameplay advantage. Future cosmetic items (emblems, custom map themes) may be offered but will not affect gameplay.
5. Account
- Pawmark creates an anonymous identifier automatically.
- You can optionally link it with Sign in with Apple.
- You are responsible for your account and the data associated with it.
- You can delete your own account at any time in Profile → Delete account and data.
6. Account suspension or deletion
We may suspend or delete accounts that:
- Violate the content policy (display name moderation)
- Use GPS spoofing or other anti-cheat violations
- Repeatedly harass or report other players in bad faith
- Attempt to disrupt the service
7. Service availability
Pawmark depends on third-party services (Firebase, Apple Push Notifications). We do our best to keep things running but cannot guarantee uptime. Outages may temporarily prevent walks from syncing or push notifications from arriving. Walk data stored locally is not lost during outages.
8. Liability
Pawmark is provided "as is". We are not liable for injuries from walking, damages to your phone, loss of territory due to bugs or service interruptions, or any indirect or consequential damages. Walk responsibly.
9. Intellectual property
Pawmark, its code, designs, and brand are property of Aethyr Studio. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the software without permission.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these terms. Material changes trigger an in-app notification. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Chile.
